Italian Culture Commission
Sicily, The Island and Culture
Part One - Monday, November 28 - Professor Matteo Casini of Suffolk University will help us discover the Italian island via his program "Sicily, A Little History". He will address the strategic importance of Sicily in the Mediterranean basin.
Professor Casini has contributed to the faculty of several American and European universities. A native of Venice, he is eminently qualified to speak on all aspects of Italian geopolitics, past and present. Professor Casini is an engaging speaker who has recently completed a series of lectures on the celebration of the 150th Anniversary of the Founding of the Republic of Italy.
Part Two - Monday, December 5 - Mr. Ross (Rosario) Zagami, a native of Pezzolo, Sicily (Pr. Messina) will present his program, "Sicily, My Roots My Love". He will bring forth the culture and color and his love for life in his native Sicily. He returns often and maintains a home and family in Pezzolo. Mr. Zagami is an energetic speaker as well as an accomplished practicing musician. As the founder of a financial planning practice, Mr. Zagami currently serves as Benefit Insurance Commissioner for the Grand Lodge. Mr. Zagami unveils for us the passion, the color, and the lifestyle of his native land.
